RULES OF DRESSING AND HYGIENE AT FACULTY OF ECONOMICS UNIVERSITY OF KRAGUJEVAC
Dressing
People wear different types of clothing in different situations. Students often wear informal clothing such as jeans and sneakers. Most professors, on the other hand, dress in more formal, yet comfortable clothing. It is considered appropriate to alternate clothing daily, and wear different combinations of multiple outfits. Shorts, bermuda shorts, open-toed shoes and slippers are not a desirable wardrobe at any time of the year. The same goes for tank tops and backless clothing.
Scent
We generally prefer perfumed scents to natural ones. Students may feel uncomfortable near someone who has a strong natural scent of perspiration on the skin or clothing and may actually avoid that person without saying why. Body odors may interfere with social comfort and establishing friendships with classmates, roommates, faculty members, or other people.
Hygiene
The whole body should be washed daily with soap and water to remove bacteria and the odor of perspiration. Perfumes and deodorants are not replacements for proper hygiene, they are applied only to maintain a clean smell.
Teeth
It is extremely culturally important to keep teeth and gums healthy, free from bacteria and disease. In Serbia, most people find natural odors from the mouth ("bad breath") offensive. Bad breath can occur after eating spicy foods (especially garlic and onions). The following methods of keeping the teeth and mouth clean are encouraged: brushing teeth twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, flossing teeth daily, eating well-balanced meals, and visiting the dentist regularly.
Washing hands
A number of infectious diseases, like pneumonia, a cold, and the flu can be spread from one person to another by contaminated hands. Wash hands with soap and water after using the toilet! Wet your hands with clean, running water, apply soap and rub your hands vigorously for at least 20 seconds, rinse well.
