On Thursday, May 7, representatives of the Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology (GZIST), People's Republic of China, visited the Faculty of Economics and Business. It is a private university with over 48,000 students, of whom 3,000 are studying in international academic programs. It is located in the city of Guangzhou, which is the largest metropolis in the "Greater Bay Area", which also includes Shenzhen, Foshan, Macau and Hong Kong. The entire area has the population of about 87 million and generates about 11% of China's total gross domestic product. GZIST is the fifth largest university in the Greater Bay Area and the first in terms of internationalization of its studies. They currently have joint study programs with higher education institutions in the USA, Russia, South Korea, and Vietnam.
Representatives of GZIST discussed with the Faculty's management the possibilities of conducting summer schools for Chinese students in Kragujevac, teacher mobility and joint study programs. The concretization of joint activities is expected in the coming period.
